Orange scented cranberry sauce



12 oz fresh cranberries, rinsed and picked over

1 cup orange juice

Zest of 1 orange

1 cup brown sugar

Pinch salt


In a 3-quart pot, combine all of the ingredients.  Cook over medium heat until all the cranberries pop and the sauce thickens, about 12 minutes.  Remove from the heat, cool and refrigerate.


Tip:  The sauce is best refrigerated at least 24 hours before using. Let it come to room temperature before serving.
